Months in the making, a development with new homes, restaurants and stores will begin taking shape in North Richland Hills on vacant land where a shopping mall once stood.

Mehrdad Moayedi, president and CEO of Centurion American Development Group, and community leaders broke ground this week on the 52-acre City Point project on Grapevine Highway in Tarrant County.

The Dallas Morning News reported last fall that Moayedi’s firm was designing a residential and commercial project for the property, which also includes North Richland Hills’ new City Hall and a public safety and municipal court complex.

“We are excited to celebrate the next chapter in the life of this property,” Mayor Oscar Trevino said during the ceremony.

Centurion American’s plan includes 366 single-family homes, 400 to 600 multifamily units, parks and trails and 60,000 square feet of commercial development, according to the company. It will take around seven years to complete.

American Airlines CEO Says Co. Will Be Forced To Cut Flights Without New Relief Package: CNBC

(RTTNews) – American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) will be forced to discontinue service to additional U.S. markets unless new coronavirus relief package is received, CEO Doug Parker told CNBC on Thursday.

The airline has already cut service to 13 cities through the month of November.

The airlines received aid under the federal Payroll Support Program or PSP under the CARES Act passed by Congress in March, that banned furloughs. They were hoping for an additional $25 billion in funding.

However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday said that there won’t be a stand-alone airline aid package without a larger coronavirus stimulus package.

Early this month, with the expiration of US federal payroll program on September 30, American Airlines and United Airlines started to furlough their employees, that is expected to affect around 32,000 workers in total.

However, the companies in their memos to employees reportedly said they will be recalled

We believe that American Express’ stock (NYSE: AXP) has a strong upside potential of 30% in the near term. AXP trades at $104 currently and it has lost 15% in value year-to-date. It traded at a pre-Covid high of $136 in February and is 23% below that level now. Also, AXP stock has gained 52% from the low of $68 seen in March 2020, after the multi-billion dollar stimulus package announced by the U.S. government helped stock prices recover to some extent. That said, the stock is in sync with the broader markets (S&P 500 is up around 50%), as investors are hopeful about a recovery in consumer demand over the

October 7, 2020

By Tracy Rucinski

CHICAGO (Reuters) – American Airlines <AAL.O> has delayed plans to begin scheduling Boeing Co <BA.N> 737 MAX training for its pilots in November, the Allied Pilots Association said on Tuesday, as the grounded jet awaits regulatory approval to return to the skies.

Boeing is seeking approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on a series of changes to the 737 MAX following two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019 that triggered the aircraft’s global grounding. The FAA has also yet to determine new pilot training requirements for the jet.

Last month, American said its training plans could be canceled if the 737 MAX was not recertified.

“We have not made any definitive plans regarding the 737 MAX as the return to service timeline remains fluid,” an American Airlines spokeswoman said. “That’s why we recently adjusted the pilot training scheduling process and will continue to do so

American Murder: The Family Next Door is deeply personal and very unsettling

What makes this true-crime watch different — and far more effective — than most others in the genre is that it relies completely on first-hand raw footage

Shan’ann Watts lived her life on social media, documenting everything on an almost daily basis — from her morning cup of coffee to the walk and talk of her young girls Bella and Celeste to the quiet moments of romance she would get to steal away with husband Chris from her extremely busy life of being a working mother of two. In this age of oversharing our lives online, Shannan shared a lot more of her life virtually than many others would. Her social media updates presented a happy family living the American Dream. On August 13, 2018, Shan’ann and her daughters went missing from their home. That they were murdered in cold blood was discovered two days later. Shan’ann was a few

An Uncontroversial Imperative For American Business

October 6, 2020
| business

It’s been just over a month since the Office of Management and Budget announced a new Executive Order prohibiting federal agencies from conducting race-related training for their employees. When that memo failed to make the controversial splash that typifies the current administration’s activities, it was only a matter of time until subsequent guidance extended that ban to federal contractors. Likely by design, this later action represented a far greater provocation: some of the world’s biggest companies, many of whom have led the way in driving diversity and inclusion-related learning and understanding for hundreds of thousands of workers around the world, are also some of the U.S. government’s largest suppliers. The order creates a false dichotomy between these organizations’ desire to earn revenue and serve Americans via federal contracting and their desire to earn revenue and serve Americans – including their employees, customers, shareholders and communities – via great workplace practices.

Trent Shores: Native American justice is a personal and professional mission | Columnists

Moreover, since the recent shift of jurisdictional responsibilities, my staff has worked around the clock to hold criminals accountable in a court of law and ensure victims experience a full measure of justice. It has been humbling to see these passionate civil servants in action and doing their sworn duties. They do so in partnership with tribal, state and local law enforcement authorities as part of our collective justice mission to ensure the seamless provision of public safety services to all citizens of northeastern Oklahoma.

This past week, the Cherokee Nation hosted U.S. Attorney General William Barr, who reiterated his commitment to prioritizing public safety in Indian Country. This pledge by Barr is yet another reminder that we need not look far for examples of good faith and good acts by the United States, and, in particular, the Justice Department, upholding the federal trust responsibility to tribes, a duty rooted
