Life Insurance | Definition of Life Insurance by Merriam-Webster

How It Works

Variable universal life insurance is a combination of variable life insurance and universal life insurance. Most notably, a variable universal life insurance policy allows you to change your premiums and death benefits (though this will change the coverage amount, of course). Buyers can also make one lump sum payment for their insurance.

A portion of the premium is invested in various instruments — bonds, mutual funds, etc. The value of those instruments changes daily (hence the name “variable universal life insurance policy”). If the value of these securities rises, insureds can sometimes apply those paper profits toward their premiums (which saves them money). Of course, if the investments don’t do well, the premium is still due. If there is enough cash value in the policy to cover the costs of the policy, the policy will stay in force (though some have a required premium for a set

| No Comments
| finance

Corporate Finance is the process of matching capital needs to the operations of a business.

It differs from accounting, which is the process of the historical recording of the activities of a business from a monetized point of view.

Captial is money invested in a company to bring it into existence and to grow and sustain it. This differs from working capital which is money to underpin and sustain trade – the purchase of raw materials; the funding of stock; the funding of the credit required between production and the realization of profits from sales.

Corporate Finance can begin with the tiniest round of Family and Friends money put into a nascent company to fund its very first steps into the commercial world. At the other end of the spectrum it is multi-layers of corporate debt within vast international corporations.

Corporate Finance essentially revolves around two types of capital: equity … Read More

The Bell group, instead of being driven from the field, were at once lifted to a higher level in the business world.

The new General Manager had, of course, no experience in the telephone business. Neither had any one else.

So, just as Amos Kendall had left the post office service thirty years before to establish the telegraph business, Theodore N.

“We have the only original telephone patents,” he wrote;
