Oregon Ducks LB Sampson Niu may not play in 2020 for personal reasons originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

Oregon has already lost linebacker Troy Dye to the NFL but another contributor from the front seven may also not be in the lineup this season.

Senior Sampson Niu did not participate in Oregon’s first day of training camp on Friday and may miss the 2020 college football season due to an undisclosed personal issue, head coach Mario Cristobal said following Friday’s practice.

“With Sampson there’s some things that he’s been taking care of and he’s a guy, I think we all know we all love him. Very tight and personal with him,” said Cristobal.

“He may have some things to figure out personally and there’s a possibility he may not play this year. But until that’s confirmed I’ll like to grant him his space until we figure that out for

The commander of the 2021 crewed Boeing flight test has stepped down from his position for “personal reasons.” He will be replaced by another veteran astronaut.

When I look for investment opportunities, there’s a lot from which to choose. Electric vehicles, 5G technology and e-commerce are all solid plays these days. Those sectors are performing much better, and have so much more promise, than big bank stocks such as Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) stock.

Despite that, some analysts are even sending some bullish signals these days.

  • Wolfe Research gave WFC an upgrade, calling it a compelling risk/reward stock.
  • UBS upgraded the stock from sell to neutral.

With all due respect to my fellow stock market experts, I don’t see it. But then again, I have a unique perspective when it comes to big bank stocks such as Wells Fargo,

Personal Finance Insider writes about products, strategies, and tips to help you make smart decisions with your money. We may receive a small commission from our partners, like American Express, but our reporting and recommendations are always independent and objective.

  • Since the start of 2020, interest rates have fallen dramatically, but high-yield savings accounts are still very useful.
  • High-yield savings accounts pay well above the average interest rate and are insured by the US government.
  • I’m keeping my emergency fund and other savings in a high-yield savings account indefinitely.
  • See Business Insider’s picks for the best high-yield savings accounts »

High-yield savings accounts don’t pay the same high yields they did a year ago, but they’re still an ideal way to save for many people. I have used high-yield savings accounts since starting my first job after college, and a swing in interest rates isn’t going to scare me away.

3 Reasons Why You Should Consider Buying BAE Systems (OTCMKTS:BAESF)

October 5, 2020
| business

This year has been rather disappointing for shareholders in British-based defense firm BAE Systems (OTCPK:BAESY). Year to date, the stock has lost nearly 17% of its value, despite resilient growth in its order intake during the first half of 2020.

Looking ahead, however, there are three key reasons investors should consider buying BAE Systems.

1. Defense Spending Provides Stability

The defense sector is traditionally seen as a reliable safe haven for uncertain times. But fewer and fewer major defense firms are pure plays in the sector these days. In pursuit of what had been perceived as faster-growing markets, many in the sector increasingly earn revenues from commercial and other non-defense markets. Those firms with heavy commercial market exposure now face unprecedented economic headwinds.

Unlike many of its peers, BAE still earns nearly all of its revenues producing military equipment and providing military services. This contrasts with Airbus (OTCPK:EADSY) and Boeing

3 Bad Reasons to Get a Personal Loan

September 30, 2020
| personal

Don’t get a personal loan for the wrong reasons.

Personal loans are often a good way to borrow. You can use the loaned money for anything you’d like, and the loans come with a fixed repayment schedule, so you’ll know the costs of borrowing up front as well as the payoff date. The interest rate is also usually well below what you would pay on a credit card (unless you qualify for a special promotional rate).

But that doesn’t mean it’s always a good idea to get a personal loan. In fact, there are plenty of circumstances in which it doesn’t make sense to take on this type of debt. Here are three of the worst reasons to take out a personal loan.

1. Because you don’t have your spending under control

If you are trying to live well beyond your means, a personal loan can, theoretically, provide you with

After last night’s dysfunctional presidential debate, complete with two out-of-touch presidential contenders and one out-of-his-element debate moderator, we can all use a good laugh – at least this one isn’t at our own expense.

Loanry.com, a financial information platform, asked 5,086 US loan brokers and personal bankers “to reveal the strangest reasons they had ever seen on a personal loan application.”

Ten of the weirdest reasons people have asked to take out personal loans are as follows:

  1. To buy a tiger
  2. To build a statue of a loved one
  3. To follow David Hasselhoff on tour around Europe
  4. To keep an affair secret
  5. To hire an undisclosed celebrity to be present at the birth of their child
  6. To build a working replica of a trebuchet (a type of catapult)
  7. To go missing for a while
  8. To hire an acting troupe to recreate the Game of Thrones Red Wedding at their

ERIE, Pa., Sept. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ —
ERIE, Pa., Sept. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Life insurance can pay for final expenses and provide financial security for loved ones left behind, but a new national survey from Erie Insurance shows many people are confused about it. Large percentages of respondents were unsure how various occupations and health conditions might affect who can or can’t get life insurance, and many significantly overestimated the cost.  Respondents also shared the reasons they first got life insurance, and the reasons they do – or don’t – have it now.

“Getting a life insurance policy is one of the most important things a person can do to take care of their families and yet, it’s a topic that many people don’t want to think about. As a result, there is a

Rosemont Public Safety Department Superintendent Donald E. Stephens III is on an indefinite leave of absence for “personal reasons,” village officials confirmed Friday.

Stephens III, the head of the village’s combined police and fire department and a 22-year veteran of the force, requested the leave, according to his uncle, Mayor Brad Stephens, who approved the request.

The mayor said the leave of absence, which went into effect Wednesday, isn’t related to any type of disciplinary issue.

Stephens III, who earns a base salary of $217,256, is being paid during the leave, which is classified as a medical leave, the mayor said.

In the past, village employees who have applied for and received such a leave are entitled to up to a year. It’s unclear when Stephens III would return to the job.

“I don’t know what’s going to be his situation,” Brad Stephens said. “He’s got some personal issue he
